Everyone experiences depression  from time-to-time and it is often a natural reaction  to challenging or adverse life events.
Depression can be either mild or severe and can sometimes be caused either by biochemical imbalances in the body that can cause short and/or long-term depression, or, can be a reaction to any number of particular circumstances such a bereavementthe breakdown of a relationship, work related stress, sexual and domestic abuse, trauma or illicit drug or alcohol misuse to name but a few..

In some more severe cases, some people may experience suicidal feelings or have suicidal thoughts. If you are feeling suicidal or in crisis, please either call 999, attend your local A&E or attend an emergency appointment at your GP for immediate support.
